Finding joy #2

This year the Primary presidency switched up their responsibilities and now I am in charge of Baptisms....YIKES! Talk about a ton of pressure! This is one of the most important days a child will have and I am in charge of planning it?! What if I mis-spell their names, what if I print up the program wrong, what if....the list could go on and on. As part of the job I go and visit with each child the week or so before they get baptized and just talk to them about what they need to know about that day. I also am planning the baptism preview, which is next Sunday. I had my first baptism on Saturday and lucky for me, one of the boys being baptized was my good friend Angie's son...so I knew that if I screwed up she would forgive me!
Well not only did the baptism go pretty smooth, it was such a wonderful spiritual experience for me. What an awesome blessing I have to be able to be a part of such a wonderful thing! I can tell that I am going to love this new responsibility. It really helps me to connect with the children on a personal level...which is what I think I have been missing out on.
I am still a little stressed about the Baptism Preview that is coming up, but at least I got all the invitations made and most of them handed out last night. PHEW! I also took pictures of each of the kids that will be getting baptized (there are 19 of them!), I am not sure how I am going to use them, but somehow I want to incorporate that into the program. *shrug* sometimes I feel like the blind leading the blind! LOL

OK so if there is anybody in the world that can pull it off, it's you and you do it amzingly beautiful, everything you do. I wish you were doing Taylor's bapitsm preview, because I haven't heard one thing about it, wonder if it will even happen.

Please always know what a great friend you are to me, and that I think the absolute world of you. Sure do love ya.

Hey funny story about Asher, such a good lesson.

Your attitude toward your calling makes me so happy!!! I need to get the same attitude! sadly last sunday I spent it holding a SCREAMING 18 month old who now probably hates me, while she got all of her spit, snot, and tears all over my face, neck and sweater! UHRGGG and all of the great kids moved out this last month cuz their parents graduated... Oh well, I'm not going to be in nursery forever, and it's a weekly reminder why kids right now would kill me!!! I miss you bunches! Hope christmas and New Years was awesome! Love you bunches!

man your happier then me! i just got released form my nursery calling, and it was torture! the kids are cute and great and all, but in my ward once your in the primary you are FORGOOTEN. i have been in this ward for 2 years now, and for 2 years i was in the nursery, adn now that im going to relief society again everyone keeps asking if im new! "we have a visitor today!" and they point tome, and i smile and stand up and introduce myself adn say i've been in this ward for two years now, but your all forgiven for not knowing... i was kinda lost in the primary..." hopefully my grumpy attitude with the relief society will make them realize theres women in the primary too.... oy...

First off, I love your blog background! And secondly, your post is so sweet.
There's no wondering why you are in the calling you are in!
My Caboose will be getting baptized in March--we're so excited for her! I'm sure you'll do wonderful!

The spray paint on the shirt can be stiff, but if you spray just a little, then let it dry, then repeat, it's not stiff - looks like a regular shirt. But stiff paint is a cool look too.

Oh Jenny, I haven't had chicken nuggets in such LONG time. Maybe the fact that I haven't been to McDonalds in such a long time has something to do with it. Or, maybe since it was you who brought out the 20 piece in me, and since those are the days of the past I No longer need them. :o)

Shane is doing really well. He had Gastric Bi Pass. He couldn't have the lap band since he has gurd! He's home and doing really well. :o)

Jenny, you did a wonderful job with Dallin's baptism. You made it special, personal and you had the spirit with you 1000000% as you came to talk with him at our home. Seriously! You are such a blessing in our life!
