Our Christmas Angel

For the past several months we have been earnestly praying that Chris would be able to find a job where he would get a stable income and help us out of our current financial situation. Although he has had many interviews with various companies he has not been offered anything...but still we pray for help.

This morning we received an answer to our prayers. A gift was left on our doorstep by an anonymous person. I have no idea who left this gift. For all I know it could be someone who is reading this right now. To that person we thank you from the bottom of hearts. You will never no how much the gift is appreciated. I don't know why this person felt prompted to do this, but in our eyes you have become our family's Christmas Angel. Chris asked me how we can ever thank this person, since we don't know who it is and I told him that someday, when we are able, we will show our thanks and gratitude by doing this for a family in need. I guess that is the best that we can do. I am so thankful for a Heavenly Father that is ALWAYS mindful of our needs. While I hate that we are in the situation that we are in, I am humbled by this experience and look forward to the day that I can make a difference to someone else like this person has done for us. The chorus of a song (it is playing right now) has played in my mind over and over today and I feel like it fits my thoughts so well...

I believe there are angels among us,
sent down to us, from somewhere up above.
They come to you....and me....in our darkest hours,
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give.
To guide us with a light of love.

I am also reminded of a talk that was given this past conference by Jeffery R. Holland in which he states...
"May we all believe more readily in, and have more gratitude for, the Lord’s promise as contained in one of President Monson’s favorite scriptures: “I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, . . . my Spirit shall be in your [heart], and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.” In the process of praying for those angels to attend us, may we all try to be a little more angelic ourselves—with a kind word, a strong arm, a declaration of faith and “the covenant wherewith [we] have covenanted.”

So to my angel....wherever you are....I can only say one thing. Thank You.

It is amazing how in the deepest hour of need, someone listens to the promptings of the spirit and comes through to answer someone elses prayer...you know if it I could've done it, it would have been me, but unfortunately it couldn't and someday you may find out who it was, but if not....that is the joy of service to others! You are loved Jenny, not just by your Christmas Angel!

What a sweet, happy experience. Being the recipient of someone's prompt to serve deepens our commitment to serve others and lift each other up, I think. I'm glad you had this experience--sounds like it was a testimony builder.

Jenny, I am so happy for you guys, and like I told you, sometimes it's oh so hard to be the recipient of help instead of the giver, but a lot of times I think that is the trial. I truly am so grateful for you guys and your friendship and if there's anything we can do, PLEASE let us know. We love you guys!

There really are angels among us! We love you guys and so do the "Angels"! We had someone do us a huge favor once, a co-worker of Steve's. And when we asked how we could thank him, he said, someday do it for someone else. I'm still looking forward to that day when I can do something big like that for someone else, but in the meantime, I always remember how I felt when I found out what he was doing and try to use that in my day to day activities as well. I know you already do that though! Love you guys!

Thanks for sharing your story...it is true that there are "angels" among us. Heavenly Father usually answers our prayers through others...it makes me want to make sure that I am in the right frame of mind to pick up on any spiritual nudges for others that are in need during this season. I know my bishop really knew that we needed some help last season even when we didn't realize it ourselves.

My sweet little child, what a tremendous experience you have had and it is so important that you share and let others feel of your sweet spirit and gratitude for a loving father and those that listen to his promptings. I too want you to know that he lives and loves and knows you personally. I am so grateful that you have been a recipient of this miracle. May I also add my thanks to all the special spirits that listen to his promptings and then act on them. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
